If your flight gets cancelled or delayed, you have more power than most people realize.
Here's what you need to know:

If the airline cancels your flight, delays it significantly (typically 3+ hours domestic, 6+ hours international), or makes a major schedule change — you're entitled to a full cash refund, regardless of whether your ticket was ''non-refundable.'' Airlines cannot legally force you to accept a travel credit instead.
